Abhijeet Dipke’s Grandmother Dies as CJP Founder Remains Detained in Delhi

Savitribai Shankar Dipke, the grandmother of Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) founder Abhijeet Dipke, died on October 10, 2026, in Santuk Pimpri village in Maharashtra's Hingoli district. Media reports said she had been unwell for some time. Her death was reported while Dipke was in Delhi ahead of the CJP's planned protest at Jantar Mantar.
Dipke had travelled from Mumbai to Delhi to participate in the demonstration, which was linked to the party's demand for the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar. Delhi Police detained him amid security arrangements for the planned protest. His detention drew further attention after news of his grandmother's death emerged.
According to media reports, Delhi Police said Dipke could return home to attend his grandmother's last rites. However, the details of his release and subsequent travel were not independently confirmed in the reports available at the time. Reports also differed on his grandmother's age, so a precise age could not be established confidently.
The incident added a personal dimension to the political developments surrounding the CJP protest. Dipke's grandmother's death was reported as he remained caught up in the security operation in Delhi. The circumstances of his detention and the arrangements for him to return to Maharashtra remained key points of public interest.
