NTA Server Glitch Disrupts CUET UG 2026 at Noida Centre, Students Wait for Hours
World30 May 2026

Noida, May 30: Hundreds of CUET UG 2026 candidates reportedly faced significant delays at a Noida examination centre after a technical issue affected the conduct of the examination on Saturday. The incident has sparked criticism of the National Testing Agency (NTA), which is responsible for conducting the nationwide entrance test.

According to students and parents, candidates at Adarsh Pariksha Kendra in Noida were asked to remain inside the examination centre for several hours as officials attempted to resolve a server-related problem. Many students claimed they waited for nearly four hours amid uncertainty before receiving further instructions regarding the examination.

The disruption caused frustration among candidates, many of whom had travelled from different locations to appear for the test. Parents waiting outside the centre also expressed concern over the prolonged delay and the lack of clear communication during the situation.

The NTA later acknowledged that technical glitches had affected the examination process at certain centres. The agency stated that steps were being taken to ensure that impacted candidates received a fair opportunity to complete their examination and that appropriate measures would be implemented where necessary.

The incident quickly drew attention on social media, where students and education activists criticized the examination authority over the disruption. Many questioned the preparedness of the system for handling one of the country's largest undergraduate entrance examinations.

CUET UG serves as a key gateway for admission to undergraduate programs in central and several participating universities across India. Any disruption in the examination process can affect thousands of students competing for limited seats.

As of now, candidates affected by the technical issues are awaiting further updates from the NTA regarding revised schedules or additional arrangements. The incident has renewed concerns about the reliability of examination infrastructure and the challenges of conducting large-scale computer-based tests across the country.
