RCB Crowned IPL 2026 Champions After Defeating Gujarat Titans in Final

Royal Challengers Bengaluru successfully defended their Indian Premier League title after defeating Gujarat Titans by five wickets in the IPL 2026 final at the Narendra Modi Stadium on Sunday. The victory marked RCB's second consecutive IPL championship and capped off another memorable season for the franchise.
Chasing a target of 156 runs, Bengaluru produced a composed batting performance under pressure. Star batter Virat Kohli led the way with an unbeaten 75 off 42 balls, guiding his team across the finish line with two overs to spare. His match-winning knock earned him the Player of the Match award and played a crucial role in securing the title for RCB.
Earlier, Gujarat Titans posted 155 runs in their allotted 20 overs after being asked to bat first. Despite a competitive total, the Titans were unable to contain Bengaluru's batting lineup, which paced the chase perfectly on the big stage.
As the winning runs were scored, celebrations erupted inside the packed Narendra Modi Stadium. RCB players rushed onto the field while thousands of supporters celebrated another historic triumph for the franchise. Captain Rajat Patidar proudly lifted the IPL trophy as fireworks lit up the Ahmedabad sky.
The 2026 season also witnessed several standout individual performances. Rajasthan Royals youngster Vaibhav Suryavanshi emerged as one of the stars of the tournament, winning the Orange Cap, Most Valuable Player (MVP), Emerging Player of the Season, Super Striker of the Season, and Super Sixes of the Season awards after a record-breaking campaign.
For Bengaluru, however, the night belonged to the champions. After years of chasing success and now winning back-to-back titles, RCB have firmly established themselves among the dominant teams of the IPL era. The victory will be remembered as another landmark moment in the franchise's history, with Virat Kohli once again playing a decisive role on cricket's biggest domestic stage.
